ExamVision produces all its loupes using world class optics. These incorporate only the finest anti-reflective features, protective coatings and filters, and also come with built-in chromatic aberration (colour separation) prevention as standard.

High-quality work depends on healthy eyes - ExamVision provides you with unrivalled optical performance. ExamVision loupes include built-in benchmark features for eye protection, smudge resistance and reflection elimination.

Hi-index multi-layer lenses: Lighter, thinner and more impact-resistant.
Hi-index lenses are able to bend light more effectively than traditional lenses. They are lighter, thinner and more impact-resistant than ordinary lenses. ExamVision uses Hi-index lenses as standard.

Vision+Lens Protection (VLP) VLP is an enhanced coating that provides much greater scratch resistance than basic and standard coatings. Built-in anti-reflection provides greater comfort and sharpness of vision, and filters 99% of harmful ultra-violet light. It also repels dust and smudges, reducing the amount of cleaning necessary.

Working in a bright, high-exposure LED environment means your eyes are vulnerable to harmful UV and Blue-Violet light, (see the illustration above). Over time harmful light is one contributing factor of eye diseases like cataracts or age-related macular degeneration (AMD)

BlueLight Protection (BLP)
ExamVision loupes are covered by the best BlueLight Protection (BLP) against harmful UV and Blue-Violet light in both ocular and carrier lenses as an optional add-on. Effective protection keeps the eyes in better condition while offering more comfortable and relaxed vision.
ExamVision recommends that loupe users who spend long periods in LED environments use BlueLight Protection (BLP).

BlueLight Protection (BLP) is included as a non-anti-reflective coating, a filter or embedded within the lenses.

NOTE: BlueLight Protection (BLP) is NOT sufficient to protect your eyes when using a UV curing light.

Partially filters Blue-Violet light


Eye health relies on various factors (age, genetics, smoking, diet). Light is one of the modifiable risk factors on which an ophthalmic lens may act. UV is one contributing factor of cataracts. Blue-Violet light is one contributing factor of AMD (1).

Blue-Violet light photo-protective potency is measured or calculated. Measurements are done through in vitro photobiology experiments conducted by Essilor and a 3rd party. Photosensitized RPE (Retinal Pigment Epithelium) cells are exposed to Blue-Violet light, reproducing the physiological exposure to sunlight of the 40 year old eye. Calculation model is using an interpolation method of spectral data between 400 and 455nm. This model has been designed thanks to correlation between spectral measurements and in vitro test results on outer retina cells, with a dispersion of 5%. For Eye Protect System™ lenses with Crizal Forte® UV coating, 25% (+/-5%) decrease in light-induced retinal cell death versus no filter. For standard lenses: 1.5 or Poly material with Crizal Forte® UV coating, about 7% decrease.
